Emma O’Dwyer

Emma O’Dwyer lives in London and is the founder of Baby Speak, which is located at 10 Harley Street London.
Emma is both a qualified Speech and Language Therapist (Ulster University Belfast) registered with HCPC and a fully certified IBCLC Lactation Consultant. Emma has over 10 years’ experience of working across a range of paediatric settings (both NHS and private hospitals), including Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, The Royal London Hospital and The Portland Hospital.
She is passionate about early communication development in childhood, infant feeding and dysphagia (feeding and swallowing issues).
Baby Speak was established by Emma to address the need for expert, science-based, professional health services to support children from birth to develop their feeding, speech, language and communication.
Alongside her clinical work, she is an expert witness and able to support medico-legal cases. Emma also acts as a consultant to corporate organisations to enhance workplace well-being and experience for breastfeeding women.
Ciara Knox

Ciara is a qualified Speech and Language Therapist with over 10 years’ experience of supporting children with complex communication needs including physical, cognitive and sensory impairment.
Ciara is passionate about inclusive communication and has a vast knowledge in a range of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems. This includes signing, symbols, communication books and powered technology such as switching, eye gaze and iPad applications.
She has particular experience using TaSSeLs signing, Makaton, PODD, Supercore, Look2Talk, Proloquo2Go and Grid 3.
Ciara has presented her clinical work at conferences such as the British Academy of Childhood Disability 2020, Communication Matters 2021 and European Academy of Childhood Disability 2021, where she was co-author of the Mac Keith Press prize-winning poster.
Ciara is also a consultant on environmental adaptations and communication strategies to support staff and their young learners in education. Ciara is an advocate for Communication Access UK (CAUK) encouraging and supporting businesses and organisations to become more communication accessible.
Louise Emerson

Louise is a qualified Speech and Language Therapist with a BSc Hons degree from De Montfort University, Leicester. Since qualifying in 2007, Louise gained further specialist training within the area of eating, drinking and swallowing (paediatric dysphagia).
She worked at Great Ormond Street Hospital London for many years, supporting children with a range of complex medical conditions. She has specialist training in supporting children with cerebral palsy, autism and Down Syndrome.
Louise offers specialist feeding and communication support for children and their families. She also has extensive teaching experience and offers supervision/peer support services for other therapists.
Louise is also a busy mum of two young daughters so has ‘first-hand’ experience of working through the challenges of weaning and learning to talk in the early years. She is currently navigating the fussy toddler stage!
Emma Henderson

Emma has worked as a qualified Speech and Language Therapist for over 10 years.
She has a particular interest in working with children and young people with complex communication needs and specialises in areas such as Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). This ranges from paper-based (Core Vocabulary Boards, PODD) to high-tech (iPads, eye gaze) systems. Emma takes great pride in offering dynamic assessments for each client and ensuring personalised, adapted systems to meet the client’s communication and physical needs.
Emma has worked in a variety of settings including special schools, mainstream schools, nurseries, clinics and home settings.
Emma is committed to professional development and has attended a range of professional trainings which included Makaton and Sign Along signing systems, Tactile Signing for Sensory Learners (TaSSeLs), Switch Skills, Intensive Interaction, Tracheostomy and advanced dysphagia courses.
Emma provides a client-centred approach and enjoys working with parents, carers and other professionals to set and achieve functional therapy goals and outcomes.
Aoife O’Riordan

Aoife is a qualified Speech and Language Therapist and has a BSc Hons degree from University College Cork, Ireland. Aoife has a particular interest in working with children with speech sound disorders and language disorders. She has worked across a variety of settings including mainstream schools, additional resource provisions, nurseries, clinics, and family homes.
Aoife has a wide range of experience in assessment and intervention with toddlers and children who have difficulties in speech sounds, expressive and receptive language, social communication, autism, and selective mutism.
Aoife enjoys working closely with families to ensure the achievement of functional, client-centred outcomes and is very passionate about evidence-based practice.
Megan Byrne

Megan is a Speech and Language Therapist with over 10 years’ experience. Graduating from Birmingham City University in 2013 she has since gained a wide range of experience including working across clinical settings such as mainstream schools, specialist schools and provisions, hospital clinics, children centres, family homes and early years settings.
From working in specialist schools for a number of years Megan also has experience and an interest in supporting children with global development delays and severe/complex communication needs to develop their functional communication skills, following a child-centred and multi-disciplinary approach. Megan has training in Gestalt Language Processing, SCERTS, Lego Therapy, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, Elklan and Parent-Child Interaction.
Megan is also passionate about supporting children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Megan advocates for neurodiversity affirming practises particularly in terms of sensory integration. She also has a range of experience and interest in Alternative Augmentative Communication (AAC) and working with families to explore and implement the right AAC option for them.
Emma Shave

Emma is an experienced Speech and Language Therapist having worked in the NHS (Sussex, Lewisham and Kent) and private specialist provisions/nurseries since 2009.
She has over 15 years of experience working with children with autism, social communication, and complex communication and developmental needs. Emma specialises in carrying out diagnostic autism assessments including identifying appropriate and supportive diagnoses for those children who have more complex presentations and providing a second opinion when initial assessment needs clarification.
Emma’s practice aims to be neuro-affirmative and child-led using a coaching approach that supports natural development and helps each child reach their potential. She is trained in working with Gestalt Language Processors and is experienced in supporting children who present with anxiety and sensory differences.
Jemima Davis

Jemima is a freelance website and graphic designer living in London. Her work covers branding, web design and management, and email marketing design. She is also the director of the design agency Jericho Creative.
Jemima isn’t industry-specific and enjoys the variety that comes with working across different kinds of businesses and industries. Current and past clients include; yoga teachers, personal stylists, interior designers, doctors, authors, concept stores, and of course Baby Speak.
Patricia de Guzman

Patricia graduated with a Master of Speech Language Therapy Practice in 2014 after obtaining a Bachelor of Science (2012) from the University of Auckland in New Zealand. Patricia has experience working with toddlers, children and teenagers who have difficulties in the following areas of communication: speech sounds, language, social communication, and Augmentative Alternative Communication.
Patricia has worked with children with a variety of developmental and genetic conditions such as autism spectrum condition, Down syndrome, cerebral palsy, DiGeorge syndrome. She has also worked with children with brain injuries relating to hypoxic ischaemic encephalopathy and stroke.
Patricia has worked in various settings in both the NHS and the private sector, including nurseries, schools, clinics, hospitals and family homes.
Patricia always strives to follow family-centred and evidence based-practice to ensure that she can deliver a professional, thoughtful and effective service to clients.
